Wicked Birthday!

My 30th birthday is coming up and Alan surprised me a couple of weeks ago with tickets to see Wicked! He gave me a birthday card with a picture of Scarlett O'hara from Gone With the Wind and he had colored her skin green. (He said it was the closest thing he could find. How creative!) Inside he had written that he got a babysitter and we were going to see Wicked-- that night!!! I had hinted to him a couple months ago that I really wanted to see it but I knew the show was leaving Sacramento before my birthday, and I thought it had already left and he had forgotten about it. It really was a surprise! 

We were in the 10th row and it was just as good as everyone has been saying! We LOVED it! Thank you Alan for a wonderful birthday present!

We also went to Macaroni Grill -- my new favorite!

We Had Our Own Bees

In April we realized there was a huge group of bees gathering around one of our upstairs bathroom windows. Emma wanted me to make sure she gets proper credit for being the first to notice. We also realized we had honey dripping into the inside of the bathroom from the top of the window. We finally concluded there were bees
IN THE WALL!
We had a bee keeper and a contractor come and remove part of the ceiling as well as the bees and honey comb they made. It was a pain but kind of neat! Unfortunately, the bees had been eating the honey and there was none left for us. . . 

Movin On In

We've been helping Grandma Kari and Grandpa Jeff paint their house so they can move in! 

It's A LOT of work, but it sure is fun!

Auntie Carli took Brookie on a walk and she found this HUGE dandelion!

I felt like the house was officially their's when the first Diet Coke was there over night. Maybe I will bring them a 24 pack as a house warming gift.

Aunt Nicole came to help but we got distracted and had to go thrift shopping for a while instead of unpacking. :)

Pool days

I love summer days, just chillin at the pool. 

Emma got this book for participating in our library's summer reading program. Brooke chose "If You Give A Mouse A Cookie."

Ikea

 We went to Ikea with Grandma Kari and Auntie Carli and the girls got these cool wooden dolls. They painted them and really wanted me to take photos because they were so proud of them!
