Thanksgiving Break

We had a restful Thanksgiving break. It was fabulous! We saw the Muppet Movie and held baby Gwen A LOT!

The kids played games on Grandma's I-Pad and did a pretty good job at sharing!

Of course Flat Stanley joined us during our Thanksgiving Feast.

Pinterest

So I'm pretty much Pinterest's biggest fan these days. At first I was fighting it because it seemed like another craze that people were going though. (I've fought many crazes such as MySpace and even Twilight.) But after one peek on Pinterest, I was hooked. I absolutely THRIVE on all the creative ideas and Do It Yourself projects. I feel inspired and even rejuvenated by it!

My latest project: I found these panels at Goodwill for cheap and bought a staple gun at Michael's with a 40% off coupon. Then I stapled some of my mom's old fabric to the panels and VOILA! Wall art for Brooke's bedroom (which was looking VERY bare).

I have TONS of other projects I want to do and a few that are in the works. I LOVE PINTEREST!

Big Buddy Feast

Brooke's kindergarten class does activities with a 5th grade class and they call it "Big Buddies." Brooke gets to be buddies with a girl named Iman who we LOVE! We've known her family for a few years now and I was so glad they paired up. Their classes did a Thanksgiving Feast together a couple weeks ago. The 5th graders were the Pilgrims and the kindergartners were the Native Americans.

Brooke and I went on a walk today while we were waiting for Emma to get out of school. We were feeling very inspired by the beauty of Autumn.

Happy Fall!

Grandpa Jeff visited us and we went to Baskin Robbins!

10 years

On November 10th Alan and I celebrated our 10th Anniversary. We've created a beautiful family together and a wonderful life. Through all the ups and downs, we know we've been BLESSED.

Please take a listen to the AMAZING song he surprised me with at our wedding reception for our first dance as husband and wife. Still makes me cry.

FHE "Thankful Board"

I  saw this idea in a magazine and decided to do this for Family Home Evening. I got a cute frame from the thrift store and a cork board. I cut the cork board to size and put it in the frame. I cut out leaves and we wrote what we're thankful for on them and pinned them to the board.

Family Photos

Over the summer we went to Utah to visit family. We had our family photos taken by a wonderful photographer-- Emily Harkness. We LOVE the job she did! I forgot to post the photos she took. Here are some favs:

Soccer is over!

Phew! We survived our busiest soccer season yet! I was team mom for Brooke's team and team photographer for Emma's team. The girls had their team pizza parties yesterday.

Brooke was VERY excited about her first trophy. I went in to check on her before I went to bed and I found her like this:
