Dold's Christmas Tree Farm

Some friends in our Ward recommended Dold's Christmas Tree Farm in Placerville as a place to cut down your own tree. It was great!

Brooke was sad because we all chose a different tree than the one she wanted, but she was happy once we got home and started decorating it.

Emma got this pine cone from Tahoe for $1.00.

Cougar Choir!

The girls sang in their school choir at their Pancake Breakfast on Saturday! The theme was "Holidays Around the World." Emma had a speaking part about how they celebrate in Mexico by breaking open pinatas. Brooke was one of the Maraca shakers!

Stuff

Here's a cutie who made me this heart out of whatever she could find outside.

And here's an article in The Sacramento Bee about our school's principal, Mr. Peterson, and volunteer programs and how they have improved the school. It REALLY has improved greatly! Yay!

Field Trip

I got to ride the Cheese Wagon (AKA school bus) with Emma's class to a field trip to Sacramento where we watched a wonderful Holiday Dance performance called Holiday Tapestry. It was great!

My beautiful, beautiful laundry room

I really, really wanted a place to hang the girls' jackets and backpacks and other items, especially since the laundry room, which is where we enter from the garage, has become a messy pile of doo doo and it was driving me nuts. Since we are renting, we can't drill hooks into the wall, and I didn't want to spend  $250+ on a hall tree. Alan and I came up with the idea to make our own standing rack. He did most of the work, but I enjoyed using the sander! He did such a great job! Every time I walk into the laundry room I announce to everyone how beautifully clean and organized it is and that I am sooo happy. :)
