Apple Hill

I came home for a couple days in October for my dad's retirement dinner and we were able to make a quick trip to Apple Hill. It was bitter sweet because Alan and I have gone for 7 years with the girls as a family tradition, and they were in Arizona, of course, so we couldn't all be there together.

But here are some cute pics of Aaron and Gwen:

My baby is about the size of this little pumpkin!

I love Apple Hill. I feel at home there!

My intuition was correct!

We had our ultrasound today! I pulled the girls out of school so they could be there with Alan and I to see if we could find out the gender. When we got there, the ultrasound tech first did a lot of measuring and the girls had to wait and wait and wait. She checked to be sure the brain and other organs were growing properly and whatever else it is they check. Then finally she reconfirmed with us,
"So you want to know what it is?"
"YES!" we all exclaimed.
"This one's a DUDE," she said with a smile.
"I knew it," I replied.
Brooke was happy, Emma was a little sad because she was hoping for a girl, but she was still excited.
Alan just stood there looking shocked. He finally said, "I don't know how to raise a boy!"
The tech and I replied simultaneously, "You ARE a boy!" Everyone laughed.
"You'll be fine," I assured him.

And he will be.

Fotosifasis

Brooke learned about photosynthesis in school and she drew me a diagram. I loved the way she spelled it! Makes me smile.

Funeral for Phyllis and Don Harrop

My grandmother's sister Phyllis and her husband Don passed away this month, within just two weeks of each other. Their funeral was in Mesa, which is only 45 minutes from us so I was able to go and pay my respects, and also see some extended family.

Daddy/Daughter Reading

I just think it's so cute to see Alan reading "Illustrated Stories for Girls" that I had to get a photo or two.

I am so blessed

I have been feeling sooo awful with this pregnancy. It has been much worse and much longer than it was with the girls and it has been really depressing. Alan has done so much to take care of me. He has been taking the girls to school, doing grocery shopping, preparing some of the meals, taking the girls to soccer practice (it's way too hot for me right now), doing the bedtime routine with baths and scriptures, and he has brought me flowers and chocolate, and held my hair back while I've thrown up. He even bought me the right cotton squares for removing my makeup (when I even wear it these days). It's seriously the little things that mean so much!

Emma and Brooke also planned a "Pregnancy Party" for me where they gave me drawings and cards, made my bed, put flowers and home made flower petals all over our bedroom, sprayed nice perfume, and brought me crackers and water. It was so sweet and thoughtful that they would want to take care of ME! I am so blessed.

This is the inviation I got:
