Our HAWAII trip!

Our trip was AMAZING! I will be using Brooke's journal to describe it.

First day in Hawaii! Right now I am at the airport! Waiting, waiting, waiting. . . 30 Minutes later. . . 

I am on a plane for my first time!  It is cool! The person driving the plane has a flower in her hair (a tropical flower). We are flying over the ocean! It is beautiful!

I can't wait to celebrate Valentine's Day in Hawaii! I want to watch Harry Potter 4 while we are waiting but we watched Ratatouille instead.

We are almost landing! I am reading a magazine about Hana Hou and it has many guidebooks,and cultural facts.

In Arizona, it is 10:32 PM. I stay up very late and today we went to the beach. It was fun! I made a dam in front of a sand castle but it kept washing away. Good night. . .

Morning! Today we went to a different beach, that you could snorkel in. I saw some very cool fish in the coral reef! When we go home, I watch cartoons. Then it is time to go to bed.

Feb 9, 2015 11:33 AM

Today we are going to the PCC. PCC stands for Polynesian Cultural Center. We will play games, eat Polynesian themed food, and dance to Hawaiian music! We will also learn fun facts about Polynesian Culture. There are my notes: 

1. Polynesian means "Islander"

2. The Hawaiian alphabet has only 11 letters!

3. Mahalo means Thank You. 

4. The Aotearou canoe can carry 60 warriors!

5. Greenery is a token of peace.

6. When you are married you wear a tropical flower on the left side. 

I love the PCC! Right now it is 4:10 and I am at a hut to watch many Polynesian dances.

Today I went to the beach and got snow cones! It was a looong wait to go to the beach because we went to a new one. [Lanikai in Kailua]. At the beach I drew pictures in the sand. 

February 11, 2015

Today I went to the Pearl Harbor Memorial Center. I learned that: 

1. Japan attacked Hawaii in 1941. 

2. Millions of people died in World War II. 

3. I could be related to JM Lindsay from the Navy [his name was on the Pearl Harbor memorial].

Afterwards, we got lunch at Jack in the Box in Honolulu then we went on a hike and went up Diamond Head Volcano. It was a 1 mile hike each way! Then, we went home and had dinner.

February 12, 2015

Today we went to Hanauma Bay and snorkeled! I saw a lot of cool fish! After I snorkeled, I walked down the beach with my grandma and grandpa. We saw even more fish! That day we did not have any lunch. [Just snacks!] The rest of the day I stayed home.

February 13, 2015 

Today I went to get snow cones and shop with my grandma [while my parents and Emma paddle boarded]. I got a lemonade and grape flavored snow cone at Matsumoto's. The shops in Hawaii are small, but have very cool stuff! I got this cool tiger bone carving for $12! That is a great deal! I got that at the swap meet but at some of the little shops I went to today I got a pair of earrings, a bracelet that said "Wahines Rule," a small Cheeze-Its box and a raspberry lemonade! It was superb! Afterwards, we got lunch at home. After that, I just stayed home and watched TV.

Valentine's Day!

This morning my grandpa and Uncle Travis gave me Valentines! They both gave me M&Ms! It was so fun! [My parents said they're gift to us was this trip! :)] After, we took pictures at my mom and dad's old house and the temple. Then we went to this waterfall! [Waimea Falls]. My mom, sister, and grandpa swam in it. I just stayed out of the water.

Going Home.

This trip was so fun! Right now I am at the airport waiting for my flight home. I am so excited to go home, see my friends, and go to school again!

We just got served a small snack. We got a "Pau Hana" snack mix. The kind of drink I got was Pineapple. It was surprisingly yummy! Anyway, I am watching Harry Potter 4 right now. Bye. . . 

I just got a full meal! It had chicken, rice, salad, and ranch dressing. It was yummy!

10:09 PM (AZ time)

We are almost landing! It will be so cool to come home! 

1 minute later. . . We just landed! When we got out of the plane, my dad rode a sky shuttle back to the center of the airport. Then, he collects our luggage and drives us home.
