Life is Like a 2 Year Old's Birthday Party

You have many happy moments. . .

And surprising moments. . .

And even some rather intense moments. . .

You may feel shy. . .

There are people who feel left out
and need you to reach out to them. . .

You may feel like sitting on the fence. . .
Or running away. . .
Sometimes you just need to rest. . .

So you can climb those mountains. . .

And open new doors. . .

There are discoveries to be made
and treasure to find. . .

And people you love will always
celebrate with you. . .
Happy 2nd Birthday Brooke! We Love You!

I AM DIGITAL SCRAPBOOKING'S BIGGEST FAN

My sister Cori Ann and my friend Heidi have recently gotten me into digital scrapbooking. There's no clean up, less storage space is required, kids can't tear things up while you're working on it, etc. And I am able to get it done MUCH faster as I can work on my pages on my lap top whenever I have a moment. And once you are done, you order them online and Heritage Makers will print them and send them to you in the mail! Here are a few examples of what I've done lately:

There are many programs out there but the one I'm using is heritagemakers.com. My sister is a consultant and here's my plug for her: if you're interested, check it out at www.daleymemories.blogspot.com and she can help you! It's a blast!

I can't believe it

When it rains, it pours. Last night I woke up with a toothache just like the one I had two weeks ago that I posted about. I saw my dentist today and guess what-- I had to have ANOTHER ROOT CANAL on a different tooth!!! I can't even believe it. When I got home I told Emma I had to go to the dentist for an owie on my tooth and she said, "I'll take care of you, mommy. Here comes the love machine!" and she gave me a ton of kisses. :)
Here's me with my numb, goofy smile.

Alan is really excited about all the dental bills I'm racking up this month. NOT!

Funny Brooke

Brooke loves to color and draw and we are always encouraging her by telling her she's an artist. Today she and Emma were fighting over me. (I know-- I'm so popular). Emma said, "Brooke, she's MY mommy!" Brooke got really upset and started crying. Then she yelled, "No, Emma. She's MY mommy, and she's an art-itist!!"
Brooke showed her what was up!

Funny Emma

We have a hard time getting Emma to eat at meal time (or any time for that matter!) and yesterday she made us laugh with her stalling.
Me: "Emma, you need to finish eating right now."
Emma: "But mommy, I don't want to."
Me: "I'm not going to ask you again."
Emma: "But I'm taking a break. And breaks are an important part of life."

GO PHELPS!

My mom and I are having a blast watching Michael Phelps dominate at the Beijing Olympics this summer. He is an inspiration, especially because his doctor said he had ADHD as a child and one of his teachers told his mother,"Your son will never be able to focus on anything." Well, I'd say it takes an INSANE amount of focus to achieve 11 GOLD MEDALS, and surely there will be more! On a personal note, Emma has a very intense personality and becomes bored easily and I've had people tell me she looks like she has ADHD. But I love seeing stories like Michael's because it reassures me that she can and will turn that intensity into wonderful things!
