Two Niner Diner

There's a small airport here in Petaluma with a cafe called the Two Niner Diner where you can go eat and watch the planes take off and land. We took the girls for fun and it was nice enough that we could actually sit outside!

Emma and Brooke got the chicken strips and fries, which they get wherever we go to eat.

Trampoline!

Emma likes to bounce Brooke on the Trampoline Santa brought. Emma thinks it's funny. Brooke-- not so much.

Brooke prefers jumping alone. . .

While she dances and sings to herself.

Like everything else in life, Emma likes to GO FOR IT and see what she can do!

This One's For You, Carli

Carli is displeased that I haven't posted anything in a while, so this one's for you, Shnarl! I love you and I miss you!

Roller Skating!

Emma and I went to Cal Skate! It was a blast from the past since I grew up going there!

Emma drew this picture of me roller skating! You can see the skate and the stoppers on the front of them. I'm also wearing knee and elbow pads.

Good Day Sunshine

"The Sun" by Emma

I know every day is a gift, but today felt especially so. Why? Because it's January 12 and it was 78 degrees. That's rare, even for California. The girls and I played outside for HOURS soaking up the sunshine and warm breeze, listening to K-Love Christian radio (my new favorite).

As I mentioned in an earlier post, I don't exactly get inspired by gray days. My high school teacher Mr.Furrer tallied the number of gray days we had in a row one winter here in Petaluma and it added up to about 40 days. Depressing much? The sun is healing to the soul. I NEED it!

But I've discovered that we've been having just a few more minutes of daylight every day for the past few days. Call me quirky, but every little bit helps! In a week, the sun should set 10 minutes later than it did tonight and in a month it should set 55 minutes later than tonight. So we're looking at 6:30pm around Valentine's Day-- a solid improvement. (I prefer more like 8:00pm, but of course that won't happen until Summer.)

In short, I could NEVER live in Forks, WA. Even if I was Bella and Edward was my main man. (Yes Cori and Carli-- I really mean that!)

P.S. One more thing: I also despise setting the clocks back. Ok, I think I'm done now.

To Infinity and Beyond!

Emma and daddy went on a Daddy/ Daughter Date to the Chabot Space & Science Center in Oakland this weekend. They learned about planets, astronauts, and even dinosaurs! They're not actually weightless in this picture-- they said you jump and the camera senses it and takes a picture. But it still looks cool!
