Emma turned 9!

Her favorite color is orange so I had to get her this orange dress. Grandma Kari got her sunflowers and candy! We also went out to Baskin Robbins. 

A few days later, we had birthday party with her friends. 

My parents' neighbors in Shingle Springs were kind enough to let the girls come and ride their horse, Kauai! Emma is really into horses so this was soooo great!

I got Emma the new "Dork Diaries" book and she was super excited!

We also had a sleepover at our house later. The girls were up late toilet papering the house and such. When we heard them still up at 3am, Alan went down and told them it was time to SLEEP!

As always, we spent most of the time in Nana and Grandpa's back yard, playing and gardening.

Grandpa taught the kids how to make Compost Tea, which helps fertilize your garden. 

4th of July!

My side of the family was also in Utah for a Fortie family reunion. In the evening, we went with my mom's family to the Stadium of Fire at BYU! 

Kelly Clarkson and Carly Rae Jepsen sang. We had a blaaast. It is the biggest fireworks show in America! 

We stopped by the BYU bookstore the next day. We tried to convince the girls that they will be future COUGARS!

We also went to City Creek Mall and Temple Square!

It was a fun time had by all!
