A Reaction of Allergic Proportions

Eight years ago I had an allergic reaction to Cephalexin antibiotics. I've been careful to avoid it ever since, or any medication in the Penicillin family.  Two weeks ago, I got strep throat and went to the doctor after it became extremely painful. They prescribed a completely different antibiotic called Bactrim, which is a Sulfa drug. I crossed my fingers hoping I wouldn't be allergic to it.

Well, I was.

After a week of taking it, I broke out into red, itchy rashes, just like eight years ago. My entire body felt like it was on FIRE. But Alan gave me a priesthood blessing and I was amazed at how quickly I healed. Last time I was down and out for over a week and I went to the ER twice. This time I was really only down for 2 days. The Lord knew I couldn't be that sick and take care of 2 kids! I'm so thankful to be feeling better, but I hope I never have to take antibiotics again!
