I went to Mom's house over the weekend and as I drove up and saw the "For Sale" sign, suddenly it felt as if someone had punched me in the stomach. I've always known they were planning on moving as dad gets closer to retirement, but now it's REAL. Mom had me take some photos of her tree out front that only blooms in the winter (since they probably won't be living there next winter).
She also had me take photos of the lemon tree in the backyard. This is the very same lemon tree my Grandpa Joe had in his backyard when I was little. (They transplanted it to my parents' yard after he passed).
Another reason change is in the air is because my sister Cori and her family left for Texas today. We bawled during our goodbyes. I had that same feeling-- that someone had punched me in the stomach, or ripped my heart out-- as I drove to their house for the last time to say goodbye and saw the huge moving truck. I'm seriously sooo sad and I've had a few good cries over the last couple days. Here are some last photos of the kids together.
Although we are heartbroken that the Daleys have moved, we are thankful Carli and Travis have moved and are now in Lodi which is less than an hour from us! Yay! And hopefully mom and dad will sell their house and move up here soon!
And the girls and I are already planning a trip out to Texas.
