Got Milk?

I've been helping in Emma's class and in the cafeteria is a huge poster of this. I love it! Jordin Sparks rocks. THIS is the kind of Milk I'd like to see in schools. Not the Harvey kind. Yes, I went there. Did you like that? ha ha ha !

In addition

In addition to what I posted before about Harvey Milk, I've recently learned that in his reputable biography, "The Mayor of Castro Street: The Life and Times of Harvey Milk," Harvey Milk repeatedly engages in adult-child sex, advocates for polygamous homosexual relationships, and tells a very public lie because he thought it would get him ahead.

The gay community sees him as a martyr and a hero. That's fine. They can celebrate him all they want to, but why does everyone else have to?

I find it very difficult to stomach the idea of my 5 year old being taught to honor such a man. Tolerance is important, but there are other ways to teach it and better role models. Sorry to dwell on this but I feel everyone needs to know about it!!! Especially CA parents and teachers!!!

Brunettes Have More Fun!

Ok friends. Last week I tried to bleach my hair on my own. I was thinking platinum. You know, like Marylin Monroe, Pamela Anderson, or Gwen Stefani. I've done my own highlights for years so I thought, How hard can it be, right? But it turned out a bit orange/ gold.

So I tried it again with a stronger mixture. The results were even worse!
Lesson: Don't try to go platinum blonde without a professional!

So then I thought, oh boy. No more bleaching for now. It irritates my scalp and can cause scarring, hair loss, etc. So my options were
1. Live with my literally gold goldilocks,
2. Pay $100+ for a pro to fix it at a salon, or
3. Go darker.
So I tried to go to a dark blonde and it was better, but didn't quite cover up all the yuckies.
So I went for it. I dyed it BROWN baby. Brunette.
I've never gone this dark before, but I actually really like it! I'm actually not sure yet if blondes or brunettes have more fun, but so far life doesn't seem very different.
