Brooke is Six!

Brooke got to wear the Birthday Cape at school-- ALL day! Her friends wrote her some birthday notes and mommy worked hard on cupcakes! (Some of the frosting melted in the sun while we were waiting for school to start!)

That night we skipped soccer practice and went out to dinner. Brooke chose Chili's!

We gave her this Hello Kitty watch and wallet.

And these cute coin purses.

We shared a Molten Lava Cake Dessert. Yesss. We love you, Brooke!

A couple randoms

We get most of our soccer stuff at Big 5. I snapped this photo of the girls in front of the store. The chair Emma is in is awscious. (That's a mash up of awesome and righteous).

I took this one of Emma at recess while I was doing yard duty. I don't think they're allowed to climb that fence so I wasn't really doing my job now was I?

First Day of School

My two cuties before school!

Brooke saying, "Mom, it's too bright!"

She is so excited to have her own desk! Alan gave the girls priesthood blessings like he does every year before school. He blessed Brooke that she would choose friends who are like her and who choose to obey the teacher and listen to the instructions. And that she wouldn't worry if she doesn't understand everything right away. And she will gain confidence and realize she loves new subjects and learning new things.

Emma is going to be fabulous this year. Alan gave her a blessing that her mind would be bright and her thoughts would be clear, and that she would be an example to others and they would look to her.

She was sad that many of her good friends are in another class, but I know she is strong and capable of making new friends. This year will be a growing experience for her.

I mean, if this isn't the face of a determination, I don't know what is!

We are proud of both of our gals! I'm off to go do yard duty for lunch recess and see how they're doing!

Disneyland!

Yeppers, we went to Disneyland! My dad's fireman buddy, who we call Uncle Gary, couldn't use his time share so golly gosh darn, we had to come to the rescue and use it for him for FREE!

Emma on the tire swing at the area of the park that's supposed to be like a Boy Scouts place where you could meet Russell from the movie "Up."

Cars Land was sooo cool! You really feel like you're in the movie!

This ride was super cool! Granpda Jeff worked really hard to get us fast passes so we wouldn't have to wait in line for 2 hours in the heat!

Mater Teeth!

Brooke and I are on the HUGE Mickey Mouse Ferris Wheel that she really wanted to go on. She was scared but decided to be brave and went on it with Grandpa and I.

And let me just mention that only Super Mom/ Super Auntie goes on twice in a row and agrees to be in the front because no one else wants to get really wet!

We canoed around Tom Sawyer's Island!

A wonderful time had by all! I had just had gum graft surgery 5 days before we left, but I did ok! I had to eat only soft food and eat slowly, but it was fine, thank goodness!
