When Alan works from home I see him doing sketches like this on the several white boards he has. What does this even mean? So much of his job as a web developer is such a mystery to me! But I do know he's really good at it!

Pioneer Day

Every July 24th we celebrate Pioneer Day . This is to honor the pioneers of our church who settled in the Salt Lake Valley on July 24, 1847. Our Stake put on a fabulous celebration with a bounce house, a water slide, face painting, tons of food, traditional pioneer games, etc. We even had a band from Provo called Fictionist come and perform. You can see Emma had to be as close to the action as possible (above right).

Many people dressed in traditional pioneer clothing and they even had a real canon firing real canon balls! It was loud! And fun!

I waited for over an hour in line to get Hawaiian Shave ice--my kids can never say I'm not a cool mom. The girls waited in a LONG line to get their faces painted. So pretty!

We saw many friends and had a good time with them. :)

There was also an elderly woman who read tons of stories of pioneers in California. She also read a TON of genealogy that seemed to go on FOREVER. If you know anything about the Mormon church, you'd know it was absolutely CLASSIC. I loved it.
Happy Pioneer Day!

We Moved to a HOUSE!

And boy are we TIRED!

Our new address:

Lindsay Family
106 Austin Drive
Folsom, CA 95630

We are so thankful for this gift from Heavenly Father. We almost moved to Arizona a month ago because we thought we'd never be able to afford to move out of our 2 bedroom/ 1 bathroom apartment here. But the day Alan turned down the job offer in Scottsdale, AZ, he found this rental online that is renting for much less than most other homes on the market in Folsom. And by some miracle, we got it! And we are LOVING having more space and a yard and a garage, etc. And it's in our same ward and school boundaries for the girls. What a blessing.

At our house. . .

We quote funny movies like Kung Fu Panda.

Emma's Birthday!

We let her open one gift when she first woke up!

She had a party at our complex pool with some of her friends!

She got lots of goodies from friends and family. Grandma Kari gave her this jewelry kit and some dress ups!

Emma REALLY wanted to have her own camera and Alan surprised her with one! He found a good deal at Best Buy on a little digital camera with all the basics.

She was SOOO happy!

Happy Birthday Emma! We love you!
