We just got back from such a fun vacation! First, we stayed in Mission Bay near Sea World at the Bahia Hotel. It was sooo great!
The first morning there, the girls collected tons of sea shells.
They got hot chocolate almost every morning. They loved drinking out of those little cups.
Our first day, we went to Sea World.
The girls can be very competitive so we talked about how they were both brave in different ways. Brooke wasn't afraid to touch the sting rays, or any other animals, and would have loved to do that ALL day.
And Emma was brave about going on all the roller coasters!
What Sea World trip would be complete without the Shamu show? Emma insisted that we sit in the third row of the soak zone. I had a feeling it would be pretty wet but I was determined to be a fun mom and join in the fun.
Let's just say we're glad we had insurance for Alan's phone.
We were absolutely SOAKED from head to toe and we went back to the hotel to change.
Our hotel had this nice beach area with cabanas. The girls would have been happy to stay there and play in the sand every day.
This is the sand castle they buried Barbie Mermaid in, and we had to go back and get her later.
You can never have too many shades!
San Diego ZOO!
I wanted to recreate pictures we took there 3 years ago:

The girls in a fox hole!
I had to get this pineapple with sorbet in it!
Here we are on the African Safari Tram!
To save money, we ate Mac & Cheese and cereal a lot. Each hotel we stayed in had a mini kitchen.
We had to visit Coronado Island where we stayed on our honeymoon!
And we had to rent a Surrey so I could relive the hilariousness of this trip in 2010:
We all rocked at tennis, sort of.
We went to the Safari Park again another day:
And Sea World again:
We had to get dippin dots cause they are awesome!
On Father's Day, we gave Alan cards and root beer with a label saying "World's Best Pop!"
Our hotel pool in Escondido. We stayed at the Welk Resort.
Brooke poured a ton of shampoo into the bath tub because she wanted herself a real, luxurious bubble bath.
While in Escondido, we went to my cousin Denny's ward and had the best time catching up with them. We had dinner a couple times and the kids played. I felt so comfortable with them and I am so thankful for those family relationships where you know you can pick up where you left off and just laugh and laugh.

We had the BEST time and I am sooo thankful we got to do this!

That is so awesome!! What a great trip! Loved all the pictures. I loved the comparison of Brooke under the elephants foot and the recent one. So cute!
